Before you iron your clothes and polish your shoes for the week, how prepared are you for the impact you want to create on your society this week? Do you even have anything planned to contribute to society? And yes it should be a weekly exercise or a momentarily exercise. Don’t spend time talking about the wrongs in the society, rather spend time planning how you can provide a solution and help transform the society. Don’t wait to be told that it is your responsibility. It is your duty.
We put up a lot of bad stuff on social media and say a lot of negativity about our country on other media channels. We basically spend so much time complaining and do less to change what we hate. We focus more on the bad stories we can spread around than on the solution we can provide.
There is nothing patriotic about hating your country or pretending that you can love your country.
We need to learn to love Nigeria. This is our country. This is the only country you can call your own. You will always be a foreigner elsewhere. And no country is perfect, but every country is a work in progress.
When we are honest with our dealings with people; when we have a reliable character; when we have the right mindset to apply our actions; that’s where it starts. You should love your country enough to want to correct it and correct it using the right effective methods. It has to be inside you; it has to be in your nature to want to be the change. Young people always say when I get there I will never be corrupt. But they forget these statements quickly and yield as soon as they are faced with temptations. When we stand our grounds and are true to ourselves and make up our minds to be different despite the challenges we face each day, whatever issues we have can be dealt with from the grassroots. If every one of us can stand our grounds and not follow the trend of corruption, then we will be role models so that our children can follow our positive trend of doing the right things. Change doesn’t start from the top but begins from the grassroots.
‘’The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones’’
You can let transformation start with you. We can set the pace for our children. When we do this, then we can say WE TRULY LOVE NIGERIA !!!
